Each October, schools, preschools, workplaces, and individuals across Utah celebrate National Farm to School Month by crunching into Utah-grown apples. The Apple Crunch is a way to get excited about delicious local produce, help students understand where their food comes from, and support local farmers. Across the state, students taste-test different apple varieties, take field trips to local farms, and participate in other apple-themed learning activities.

Current Crunch Information & Resources

• The Apple Crunch is always held the last Wednesday in October. If that day doesn't work for you, just choose another day in October to celebrate. Our goal this year is to have 200,000 participants, we hope you're among them!

• Download the Crunch Guide here. This guide contains all the information you need to host a successful Apple Crunch.

• Find apples! A list of local growers is included in the Crunch guide, and you can also check out the Producer List. How many apples do you need? Use our handy Apple Calculator to find out.

• Don't forget to publicize your event. We’ve got poster templates and logos available to download, along with social media tips.
