About the Event
Squash Summer Hunger is a fun promotional event intended to help raise awareness about the availability of summer meals programs and help utilize the bounty of squash available during the summer months. Every June and July, we encourage Utah kids and families to visit a summer meal site and join us in celebrating summer squash in all its forms. Squash Summer Hunger is a great way to get excited about delicious local produce, help kids understand where their food comes from, and support local farmers.
Celebrations can take place at a school’s summer meal site, community garden, farmers market, and more. Squash Summer Hunger is a fun way to celebrate getting fresh, local produce to families all summer long!
